Research Interests: Byzantine Philology: Literary tradition with emphasis on rhetoric, oratory, hymnography, hagiography, secular poetry, and grammatical texts. Byzantine cultural history. Palaeography and editing of texts. Critical editions of Byzantine texts. The classical tradition in Byzantium.
