Accreditation Report for the Undergraduate Study Programme of Philology

The Undergraduate Programme in Philology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens fully complies with the principles of the EOAE Quality Assurance Standard and the Quality Assurance Principles of the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015) for level 6 of the National and European Qualifications Framework.

The initial period of validity of the accreditation was set for four years, from 29-05-2020 to 28-05-2024. In April 2023 the duration was extended to 28-05-2025.

Undergraduate Studies at the Faculty of Philology

The Faculty of Philology (N.K.U.A.) offers high quality undergraduate studies of a minimum duration of eight semesters. There are three fields of study, corresponding to three specializations in the science of Philology:

a) Classical Philology

b) Medieval and Modern Greek Philology

c) Linguistics

  • ♦ The degree in Philology is a single degree with an indication of the graduate's specialisation, depending on the field of study chosen (the choice is made in the third semester of studies).
  • ♦ The first and second semester of studies are common to all three fields of study.

Students have the opportunity to spend a semester studying at a university abroad through the following programmes ERASMUS+and CIVIS.
